Medicolegal Experience

Mani Neelamegan has been qualified as a Physiotherapist since 1998, with about 20 years of experience in the diagnosis, treatments and management of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and sports injuries. I have been involved as an expert witness since 2015 with significant experience in physiotherapy management of soft tissue injuries and orthopaedic conditions. I am a trained Medicolegal Expert with an established practice and administrative support. I have undertaken personal injury work and experienced in medical negligence of physiotherapy cases. I have prepared reports for both claimant and defendant, and fully conversant with the implications of the Civil Justice reforms for expert.

Professional Summary

Having qualified as a Physiotherapist, I have enjoyed seventeen years of clinical experience in various settings and different countries. I completed a sound general junior rotation and subsequently specialized in neurological rehabilitation. I have worked as a senior member of the stroke rehabilitation, falls and community rehabilitation team at Powys,Wales for the last ten years. My special interest and passion towards musculoskeletal rehabilitation helped me concurrently work in out private outpatient clinics using my manual therapy and acupuncture skills

I collate and review incident reports and ensure they are submitted in the appropriate timescales. I have been in my current post for ten years and I feel I have gained a vast wealth of experience and transferable skills that I believe would benefit me in medico-legal work both for Quantum reports and causation and liability report writing.

My Strengths:

My clinical experience has enabled me to develop strong interpersonal skills and my yearly appraisals identify this strength. I believe I am able to communicate effectively on all levels. I have regular training in equality and diversity and information governance.
I have a good working knowledge of Microsoft access and Excel and use these on a daily basis to communicate with other members of the multi-disciplinary team regarding patients’ progress with rehabilitation and plans for treatment. I also take the lead role in health and safety for the team I work with, ensuring all members of staff working beneath me adhere to mandatory health and safety updates.
